Training on Monitoring and Results Measurement in Private Sector Development

MarketShare Associates is excited to offer training sessions on the DCED Standard in collaboration with the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the International Training Centre.

Overview

The course introduces participants to the core principles and practice of monitoring and results measurement (MRM) in private sector development. It helps practitioners meet growing demands to estimate and attribute change with a reasonable degree of rigour, allowing for more credible reporting on achievements. It also helps build successful monitoring frameworks that allow practitioners to learn and adapt based on the data that is collected. The course is built around the Donor Committee for Enterprise Development (DCED) Standard, which is increasingly recognised as best practice in results measurement.

Learning objectives

The course allows participants to:

  • Understand the major challenges related to measuring changes in market systems, especially changes attributable to a programme’s activities.
  • Gain hands-on experience using the key tools of measurement, such as results chains.
  • Make informed decisions about which research tools and methods to use.
  • Learn how to develop an adaptive programme culture that leads to the effective use of data for strategy design and impact evaluation.

Course participants

This course is aimed at programme staff and managers, as well as donors and consultants, who want to improve their monitoring and results measurement systems.

This training is being jointly delivered by MarketShare Associates, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the International Training Centre.
