This Plan UK-commissioned report examines how youth savings groups can contribute to the fight against youth unemployment. It looks at the common key constraints to youth employability and entrepreneurship across different contexts which include: limited asset base, limited access to finance, lack of employability and entrepreneurship skills, limited social networks, household underinvestment in education and health, unfavorable cultural and social norms and non-conducive regulatory frameworks.

Drawing on examples and case studies collected in Zambia and in India, the document summarizes the findings on the extent to which savings groups may alleviate the main constraints to youth employability and entrepreneurship.
