This webinar explored practical applications of poverty measurement tools that capture the multi-dimensional aspects of poverty and intra-household dynamics. Speakers discussed tools such as the Poverty Probability Index (PPI), the Individual Deprivation Measure, and the Disadvantage Assessment, and their abilities to capture gender-responsive results.
This webinar builds on MarketShare Associates’ work supporting the Arab Women’s Enterprise Fund (AWEF) to stimulate increased women’s economic empowerment through an innovative market systems development approach. As part of its role in leading the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning approach for the project, MSA developed a unique tool, called the Disadvantage Assessment, that would allow the AWEF program to measure poverty in a more gender-sensitive and context appropriate manner.
