Food Security and Incomes

Tanzania | 2008 - 2014
Client: Aga Khan Foundation
Service: MSD

Food Security and Incomes (FSI) was an $11-million project managed by the Aga Khan Foundation in southern Tanzania, with a focus on rice and sesame value chains.

MSA supported both FSI’s design and implementation phases. This included conducting the value chain and end market analysis for the project’s two target value chains: rice and sesame. MSA provided training and mentored the market development team to develop upgrading strategies, create work plans, and implement the market development strategy in collaboration with the agriculture team.
