USAID Feed the Future Water and Food Systems for Resilient Communities Activity

Uganda | 2023 - 2028
Client: USAID, DAI
Service: GESI, MEL, MSD

WFSRCA aimed to improve the security and resilience of water and food systems in Uganda’s northeastern Kyoga Basin. Operating in the Lokok, Awoja, and Lokere watersheds, the Activity took a market-based approach as it worked with local communities and individuals to build resilience to shocks and stressors, such as climate change and conflict, that endanger local food and water systems.

MSA helped lead the Learning Track, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Track, and the Market Systems Development Track, ensuring alignment with the Activity's market systems approach. This included the development of the Collaboration, Learning, and Adaptation (CLA) strategy, and conducting learning assessments in addition to incorporating GESI principles into research and interventions. Additionally, MSA oversaw MSD implementation, conducting market systems assessments, providing advisory services, and contributing to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting activities.
